赤道より少し南半球の地域から眺めた南天の星空を描きました。
作品の中心付近には、南天の空高くに輝くケンタウルス座と南十字星を描きました。
 
日本では、沖縄からようやく地平線付近での高度で観られる南天の星々も、赤道を超えると高い空に眺めることができます。 そこには日本では聞き慣れないカメレオン座やはえ座など、意外な星座名の数々があります。
 
地上は星空のお邪魔にならないよう簡素な風景にしてみたのですが、 ちょっと淋しいかなとおもい、白鳥を優雅に游がせてみました。
 
描いた後から気づいたのですが、
赤道付近に白鳥は飛来するのだろうか. . .(笑)

I drew the starry sky of the southern sky seen from the area of the southern hemisphere a little from the equator.
 
Near the center of the work, I drew the Centaurus and the Southern Cross shining high in the southern sky.
 
In Japan, the stars in the southern sky, which can only be seen at altitudes near the horizon from Okinawa, can be seen in the high sky beyond the equator.
There are many surprising constellation names such as Chamaeleon and Musca, which are unfamiliar in Japan.
 
I tried to make the landscape simple so that it wouldn't get in the way of the starry sky on the ground, but I thought it might be a little lonely, so I tried to gracefully swan.
I noticed it after I drew it
Will swans fly near the equator ... (laughs)
