During his 33 years in the United States, where he worked as a restaurant, real estate and interior designer, he discovered the need for painting, which is where he continues to work today.
BIO (Biography)
Born in Kumamoto Prefecture, his grandfather was a painter. Influenced by his art teacher at elementary school, he learned the basics of drawing and watercolor painting.
In 1985, he moved to Colorado, where his aunt lives, and diversified into restaurants, bookstores, convenience stores, etc. After that, he worked as a real estate broker (with a real estate license) in California, and in 2008 graduated from the interior design department at the New York Institute of Art and Design. While working as a real estate and interior designer, he rediscovered the need for painting.
In 2012, he began to study oil painting in earnest at the Triton Museum of Santa Clara, and in 2015, he completed the Visual Academy at the London Drawing Academy. He is currently studying daily, taking classes from master artists at Palette and Chisel Fine Art (Chicago) and Scottsdale Artist School (Arizona).
In Japan, he has been selected for the Kanagawa Prefectural Exhibition, Kamakura Artist Exhibition, IMA Exhibition, etc.
In 2022, he was selected to exhibit at Le Salon, the oldest in France, and will also exhibit at Artexpo New York in 2022.
Currently, he remains in the United States and is active as a painter as a member of the American Society of Oil Painters, as well as hosting paint-outs and supporting Japanese painters to be active overseas.
Message from the artist
Perhaps influenced by my mother, I have loved the paintings of impressionist painters since I was a child, and often went to see paintings by Caillebotte, Renoir, Monet, Degas, Trousse, Cezanne, etc., but after moving to the United States, I began to study the paintings of Sargent and other modern master artists, and was impressed by the techniques, colors, and rhythms that far surpassed those of the impressionist painters, and they continue to stimulate my curiosity even today. For me, painting is always a new challenge and a time to be impressed by the beauty of nature and humanity that surrounds me. I would like to share the joy of encountering paintings with as many people as possible.
