Artist Statement

​

Basking in the dazzling light of Shonan, feeling the sea breeze and gazing out at the ocean.

Deep in the forest, the faint sounds of trees whispering to each other make you feel the poetry of the forest spirits.

Looking down at the rolling hills and enjoying the pleasant breeze blowing through the valley.

Such calm moments make me feel happy.

 

Since his student days, he has consistently focused on landscape paintings.
For the past 30 years or so, he has been painting the rural landscapes of Tuscany, Italy, but recently, due to some thought, he has also been adding the sea in Shonan, where he currently lives, and the mountains of Shinshu, where his studio is located, to his paintings.

Born in Yanaka, Taito-ku, Tokyo in 1955. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School, Doctoral Program with full credits. Member of the Japan Artists Association. Member of the Tama Artists Association.
