30cmに満たない小さなカトレアですが２つか３つの大きなピンクの花が咲きます。顔を覗かせた花芽を見つけた時から大きくなるのが楽しみな日が続きます。やがて蕾が現れ、一気に大きくなり見事な花が開きます。それから20日余りの間大きな花は窓辺を華やかな雰囲気で満たしてくれます。
 
It is a small cattleya, less than 30 cm long, but it has two or three large pink flowers. From the moment I see the flower buds peeking out, I look forward to the days when they will grow. Soon the buds will appear, and then they will grow and bloom into beautiful flowers. For the next 20 days or so, the large flowers fill the windowsill with a gorgeous atmosphere.
